Changelog

The catalog's history, newest first. Full data always in ai-catalog.json.

2026-07-18

  • Bilingual PL/EN pilot: this English section of the site, starting with the homepage and all 18 catalog detail pages, plus a language switcher in the accessibility bar.
  • A permanent accessibility bar at the top of every page: text size (A/A+/A++), a high-contrast mode, and a yellow mode.
  • The first two single-country entries: GENESIS-Online (Destatis, Germany) and Sirene API (INSEE, France) — the catalog grew from 16 to 18 entries, new jurisdiction values: DE, FR.
  • The About page and this changelog page; the catalog's data was made public on GitHub (bartosz-kuc/otwarteapi-catalog) — new APIs and fixes can now be submitted via pull request.
  • An embeddable "listed in the catalog" badge (static SVG, no tracking).
  • A dedicated domain, otwarteapi.pl (previously otwarte-api.netlify.app).
  • The catalog was officially listed on llms-txt-hub.
  • Expanded with 4 EU institutions (ECB, Eurostat, EUR-Lex, data.europa.eu) and a new jurisdiction field (PL/EU) on every entry — the catalog grew from 12 to 16 entries.
  • Catalog launch: 12 Polish public APIs in the ai-catalog.json format, following the Agentic Resource Discovery (ARD) standard.

2026-07-19

  • 16 individual per-API pages, with a live "Try it" button for 8 APIs with open CORS (VAT Register, KRS, NBP, GUS BDL, dane.gov.pl, IMGW, Eurostat, data.europa.eu).
  • The szukaj_katalog_api MCP tool on the skanfirmy.pl/mcp server — an agent connected to skanfirmy.pl can now search this catalog directly.
  • Automatic monitoring of the catalog's link health; fixed 2 outdated documentation links (KRS, EUR-Lex).

2026-07-20

  • Three new single-country entries, each verified live (response + CORS header): ARES (Czech Republic, business registry), CBS StatLine Open Data (Netherlands, statistics) and INE Tempus3 (Spain, statistics) — the catalog grew from 18 to 21 entries, with new jurisdiction values: CZ, NL, ES.
  • All three new APIs have open CORS — they got a live "Try it" button just like the other 8, so now 11 of the catalog's 21 entries can be called directly from a browser.

2026-07-29

  • The skanfirmy.pl (MCP server) entry updated: added an 8th tool sprawdz_lista_nip — bulk lookup of up to 30 tax IDs in one call (MF VAT Register). Mirrors the new tool at skanfirmy.pl/en/bulk — paste a list of tax IDs, get a table plus CSV/JSON export.

2026-08-03

  • The skanfirmy.pl (MCP server) entry updated: added a 9th tool sprawdz_regon — data from the REGON register (Statistics Poland, BIR service) by tax ID: REGON number, official name, legal form and full address. Also covers sole proprietorships that are not in the KRS. Mirrors the new tool at skanfirmy.pl/en/regon.

2026-08-11

  • The catalog is now visible without JavaScript — the homepage carries a static list of all 21 entries with links to their pages (relevant e.g. for AI crawlers, which do not execute JS; with JS enabled the list is replaced by the usual searchable cards).
  • Link previews (Open Graph/Twitter): every page now has a 1200×630 image and description; English pages use a separate English graphic.
  • Hardened security across the site: HSTS, Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options and Permissions-Policy headers.
  • Accessibility and structured data: a <main> landmark and a skip-to-content link on every page, breadcrumbs (BreadcrumbList) on all API pages.

2026-08-13

  • API page titles and headings aligned with real user queries (KRS, REGON, CBS StatLine, GENESIS-Online/Destatis, VIES, VAT Register and more) — no change to the substance, for better recognisability in search results.
  • A new „Related APIs" section on each of the 21 pages — hand-picked links to thematically close APIs (company registers, statistical offices, open data, EU institutions). On the KRS, REGON, VAT Register and VIES pages, an additional link to the ready-made tool built on that API (skanfirmy.pl).

2026-08-14

  • Five new foreign company registers — the catalog grew from 21 to 26 entries: Enhetsregisteret (Norway), YTJ / PRH (Finland), e-Business Register (Estonia), GLEIF LEI (the global registry of Legal Entity Identifiers) and SEC EDGAR (USA). New jurisdiction values: NO, FI, EE, INT, US.
  • Four of them have open CORS (verified live) and got a live "Try it" button: Norway, Finland, Estonia and GLEIF — so now 15 of the catalog's 26 entries can be called directly from a browser. SEC EDGAR requires a User-Agent header, so it stays as a documentation page.
  • Five open-data portals from around the world — the catalog grew from 26 to 31 entries: data.gov.au (Australia), data.gov.sg (Singapore), data.gov.il (Israel), Open Government Canada (Canada) and World Bank Open Data (global). Four with a live "Try it" button (Australia, Singapore, Israel, World Bank); Canada has no CORS header. New countries: Australia, Singapore, Israel, Canada.
  • Full country names instead of codes across the catalog — on cards and detail pages the jurisdiction is now spelled out ("Norway", "European Union", "Australia", "global") rather than abbreviated.
  • Ten more government APIs from around the world — the catalog grew from 31 to 41 entries. Company registers: Uzņēmumu reģistrs (Latvia), GCIS (Taiwan). Data portals and statistics: data.gov.my (Malaysia), datos.gob.cl (Chile), datos.gov.co (Colombia), IBGE (Brazil), data.gov.hk (Hong Kong), datos.gob.ar (Argentina). U.S. law and finance: US Federal Register, USAspending.gov. Six with a live "Try it" button (Malaysia, Chile, Colombia, IBGE, Federal Register, USAspending) — now 25 of the catalog's 41 entries can be called directly from a browser.
  • Twelve company registers and data portals with a free key — the catalog grew from 41 to 53 entries (documentation pages, like INSEE, with no live button — they need a user key). Company registers: Companies House (United Kingdom), gBizINFO and Houjin Bangou (Japan), NZBN (New Zealand), ABN Lookup (Australia), KVK (Netherlands), CRO (Ireland), CVR (Denmark), Zefix (Switzerland). Portals and statistics: data.gov.in (India), data.go.kr (South Korea), US Census Bureau. The catalog now covers 32 jurisdictions across 6 continents.
  • Refreshed copy and llms.txt for the new worldwide scope — the homepage, About, privacy, badge and the machine-readable summary for AI agents now describe a global catalog (previously "Polish and EU"), with up-to-date counts and the full list of all 53 entries in llms.txt.
  • The ECB — Statistical Data Warehouse entry got a live "Try it" button — the data-api.ecb.europa.eu endpoint returns a CORS header (verified live), so the USD/EUR reference rate can be fetched straight from the browser. That's the 26th entry with a live button.

2026-08-20

  • A new dark redesign across the whole site (“Observatory”): consistent, self-hosted typography (IBM Plex Sans/Mono), clearer cards and detail pages — publisher, an “official source” marker and a verification date on every entry.
  • Every API detail page now shows its canonical endpoint (method + address) in machine-readable form. For 52 of 53 entries it was verified directly against the source's official documentation; the one exception (data.go.kr — a multi-service portal with no single fixed address) is deliberately left without an endpoint rather than guessed.
  • The home page gained a “for AI agents” panel with links to ai-catalog.json (ARD) and llms.txt plus a ready-to-run curl example. The accessibility bar and language switch are now merged into a single row.

2026-08-23

  • The government-API pages (REGON/GUS, VAT Register, KRS, VIES) and CEIDG now link to working reference implementations on skanfirmy.pl — ready REST endpoints (e.g. GET /regon/{nip}, GET /nip/{nip}, GET /vies/{country}/{number}) and tools on the MCP server (sprawdz_regon, sprawdz_nip, sprawdz_vies).

2026-08-24

  • Three new entries — European company registers, all keyless: BORME (Spain, BOE commercial-register gazette), RPO (Slovakia, Register of Legal Entities) and JAR (Lithuania, Register of Legal Entities).
  • Three more entries: FRED (US, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis economic data — free key), AJPES PRS (Slovenia, business register — registration required) and EDR (Ukraine, Unified State Register — bulk data via data.gov.ua).
  • Added Bolagsverket (Sweden) — the free Värdefulla datamängder API with Swedish company data and SCB, OAuth2 authorization.
  • After this batch the catalog holds 60 entries across 37 jurisdictions.

2026-08-27

  • Refreshed documentation links for five foreign registers that moved their pages: ABN Lookup (Australia), data.gov.au (Australia), gBizINFO (Japan), NZBN (New Zealand) and e-Business Register (Estonia) — the old URLs returned 404/500; the new ones point to the current official API pages. The API call endpoints themselves are unchanged.
